Gina Miles made her mark on the international eventing scene in 2001 with her horse, McKinlaigh, a 14-year-old Irish Sport Horse gelding. The pair quickly gained recognition, finishing seventeenth out of 93 entries at their first CCI at Fair Hill International that same year. This impressive debut set the stage for a distinguished career. Following their initial success, Miles and McKinlaigh competed at Rolex Kentucky in spring 2002, where they placed 11th at their first four-star event.
She established Gold Medal Equestrian in Danville, California, where she trains riders of all ages in eventing, show jumping, and dressage. Her legendary partner, McKinlaigh, received a significant posthumous honor when he was inducted into the United States Eventing Association (USEA) Hall of Fame in 2015. Miles remains actively involved in the sport, continuing to give clinics and train horses across various disciplines.
