Born on January 2, 1992, Cathrine Laudrup-Dufour embarked on her equestrian journey at the age of five. By 12, she joined the Danish national pony dressage team, marking the beginning of a distinguished career. Her early years saw her secure numerous medals at Danish and European junior and young riders championships, laying a strong foundation for future successes. She later pursued academic training, studying Leisure and Sports Management at University College Zealand for a year, demonstrating a blend of athletic and intellectual pursuits. Currently, she ranks 3rd in the FEI Dressage World Ranking for athletes in CDI3*/CDIO3* and above competitions, with a strong record of 89 wins out of 181 starts in Dressage, based on results from January 1, 2010.
Laudrup-Dufour has consistently represented Denmark on the international stage, participating in multiple Olympic Games. She competed in the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, finishing 13th individually and 6th in the team competition. Her presence continued at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, where she achieved 4th place in both individual and team dressage events. In the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, riding her horse Freestyle, she secured a silver medal in team dressage and placed 5th in the individual freestyle. Her career is further highlighted by a gold medal in team dressage at the 2022 World Championships in Herning, along with two silver medals in individual special and freestyle dressage at the same event. She has also earned multiple silver and bronze medals at various European Championships from 2017 to 2025 across team, special, and freestyle dressage disciplines.
Beyond her competitive endeavors, Laudrup-Dufour has established “Cathrine Dressage,” a venture focused on training horses and young riders. She furthers this educational mission through “Cathrine Stream,” a platform offering training videos. As a prominent figure in equestrian sports, she has cultivated several brand partnerships, using her influence to promote reputable brands within and outside the equestrian community. She is married to Rasmine Laudrup, with whom she welcomed their daughter, Palma Laudrup-Dufour, on May 31, 2025. This balance of competitive excellence, entrepreneurial spirit, and personal life solidifies her status as a respected individual in the equestrian world.
