Gloria Reuben

Gloria Reuben earned two Primetime Emmy Award nominations (1997, 1998) and a Golden Globe nomination (1998) for her critically acclaimed portrayal of Jeanie Boulet, an HIV-positive physician assistant, in the American television series ER. She was promoted to a full-time cast member in 1995, continuing in the role until 1999 and returning for an episode in 2008. Her work on ER brought significant recognition and established her as a dynamic performer in the industry. Following her breakthrough television success, Reuben transitioned to acclaimed film and further television performances.

She notably portrayed Elizabeth Keckley in Steven Spielberg’s 2012 historical drama Lincoln, starring alongside Daniel Day-Lewis and Sally Field. Her film credits also include Admission (2013) with Paul Rudd and Tina Fey, and Reasonable Doubt (2014) opposite Samuel L. Jackson. In 2006, she won a Lucille Lortel Award for Best Actress for her role in David Hare’s play Stuff Happens.

Reuben continued her prolific television career with roles in series such as Raising The Bar, Falling Skies, and Marvel TV’s Cloak & Dagger. From 2015 to 2019, she took on the role of Krista Gordon, a therapist, in the Golden Globe-winning series Mr. Robot, with Rolling Stone specifically praising her compelling performance in the series finale. More recently, she appeared in the crime drama City On A Hill.

Loved. And Lost., was published in November 2019, offering an intimate and personal narrative. Demonstrating her commitment to social impact, Reuben served as President of Waterkeeper Alliance from 2020 to 2023 and is a special adviser on climate change for The Climate Reality Project.
