Graeme Hossack

Born on July 22, 1992, in Port Perry, Ontario, Graeme Hossack established himself as a prominent figure in lacrosse from his early career. He attended Lindenwood University, playing four seasons of Division II lacrosse as a Long-Stick Midfielder (LSM). During his college career, he was a three-time First Team All-ECAC player and a two-time ECAC Specialist of the Year in 2014 and 2015. His college tenure culminated in 2015 when he became Lindenwood’s first-ever First Team All-American, demonstrating his defensive prowess with 452 ground balls and 145 caused turnovers over his four years.

Hossack was drafted second overall in the 2015 NLL Draft by the Rochester Knighthawks, marking the beginning of his professional indoor lacrosse career. He made an immediate impact, scoring two goals in his professional debut on January 9, 2016, and earning a spot on the NLL All-Rookie Team. His defensive consistency quickly became evident, leading to three consecutive NLL Defensive Player of the Year awards from 2018 to 2020 and multiple First Team All-League selections. In 2021, after the Knighthawks rebranded to the Halifax Thunderbirds, Hossack signed a five-year contract, solidifying his role as a cornerstone of the team’s defense.

Beyond indoor lacrosse, Hossack has excelled in field lacrosse, playing three seasons in Major League Lacrosse (MLL) for the Atlanta Blaze before transitioning to the Premier Lacrosse League (PLL). He was selected second overall in the 2021 PLL Entry Draft by the Archers Lacrosse Club. In his first PLL season, he was named an All-Star and received the Dave Pietramala Defensive Player of the Year award. Internationally, Hossack has proudly represented Canada, winning gold medals at the 2019 and 2024 World Indoor Lacrosse Championships and earning selections to the All-World Team in 2018, 2019, and 2023 at various World Lacrosse Championships, reinforcing his reputation as one of the best defenders in the sport.
