Lucy Davis is an Olympic silver-medallist showjumper and entrepreneur whose career in competitive horse riding has seen her compete with some of the greatest riders in the world. After missing out on the 2012 Olympics, her drive and determination to succeed ensured that she was part of the silver-medal-winning American team in Rio in 2016. After suffering from post-Olympic burnout, she regained her love for show jumping and continues to be involved in the sport as the founder and CEO of Prixview, the leading sports data provider for show jumping.
Unlike many of her fellow show jumpers, Davis was a keen soccer player growing up and only decided to focus on show jumping in her mid-teens. The move paid off as she soon began winning multiple national competitions. Within a couple of years, she had graduated to international competitions, and in 2009, she won individual silver in the North American Junior and Young Riders Competition.
Whilst all this was happening, Davis was also studying architecture at Stanford University, and to train for the Olympics, she would have to regularly commute from coast to coast. Despite her dedication, she missed out on a place at the 2012 Olympics. However, she relocated to Europe and continued training, eventually winning a deserved place on the 2016 US Olympic Team, who won silver in Rio. In the aftermath of achieving her dream, Davis found herself burned out. She returned to the States and eventually got back in the saddle. She also began to contribute to equestrian in other ways, first with PonyApp and more recently with Prixview.
