Multi-sport athlete, Olympic gold medallist, humanitarian and ambassador Heather Moyse has had a career glittering with highlights.
Born in Prince Edward Island in Canada, Moyse was an athlete throughout school and competed in basketball, rugby, soccer, and track and field. She was awarded numerous local and regional titles, including an Order of Prince Edward Island. Moyse began to train for the 2006 Winter Olympics bobsleigh event just six months before the competition took place, and she and her partner Helen Upperton placed fourth by a close margin. Her competitive streak kicked in, and after finishing her masters in occupational therapy, Moyse returned for an explosive appearance at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics, securing Canada’s first ever gold medal in the sport. Unfortunately, Moyse broke her ankle soon after the win, whilst representing Canada at the Women’s Rugby World Cup. She then went on to win another medal in the bobsleigh competition at the 2014 Sochi Olympics.
After a hugely successful sporting career, Moyse decided to empower others to reach their potential by using what she’d learned during her years of hard work. She is now an ambassador and highly accomplished speaker, inspiring audiences across the world to overcome adversity and rewrite their destiny. Her huge range of experience, from being a professional athlete, to carrying out charity work across the world, to working as an occupational therapist, means she is uniquely placed to engage and enlighten others.
