Hockey player and member of the USA Women’s National Team Amanda Magadan has competed in the Pan American Cup, the World League and the FIH Pro League.
After playing hockey throughout her childhood and teen years, Magadan attended Lafayette College and played for the hockey team during her time there. She was a part of the All-Patriot League Second Team while at college, and in 2014 was named as part of the US Under 21 Women’s National Team. She competed in the 2016 Junior Pan American Cup and the 2016 Junior World Cup and the following year she was included in the lineup for the US Women’s National Team. The team qualified for the 2017 Pan American Cup and the World League Semifinals where she took home a gold medal. More appearances followed for the young and talented player, this time in the 2018 Vitality Women’s World Cup and at the 2019 Pan American Games where the team finished third. Magadan also played in the 2019 FIH Hockey Olympic Qualifier in India, and most recently competed in the 2020 FIH Pro League too. She is now well known as a hugely experienced and versatile player, and one of the most popular among fans.
Outside of her career as an athlete, Magadan is also a fitness instructor at Ryde Fitness Studio and a co-founder of the hockey coaching group Become Uncommon. She hosts a podcast called Uncommon Conversations and facilitates training for players of all levels and genders.
