Holland Roden

Holland Roden was born on October 7, 1986, in Dallas, Texas. From an early age, she was drawn to performing, participating in theatre camps and acting classes. Initially, she pursued a path in science, enrolling at UCLA as a molecular biology major. Her dedication to academics led her to continue her education even while starting her acting career, eventually earning a degree in women’s studies from UCLA. This blend of scientific curiosity and artistic passion shaped her approach to her varied roles.

Roden’s professional acting career began with guest appearances in notable television series such as “Lost” (2008), “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” (2007), “Cold Case” (2008), “Weeds” (2009), “Community” (2009), “Criminal Minds” (2010), and “Grey’s Anatomy” (2012). Her early career also included a recurring role on HBO’s “12 Miles of Bad Road” (2008) and a lead in the film “Bring It On: Fight to the Finish” (2009). These experiences provided a foundation for her breakout role as Lydia Martin in MTV’s “Teen Wolf.”

From 2011 to 2017, Roden gained widespread recognition for her main role as Lydia Martin in “Teen Wolf,” a critical and commercial success that cemented her status as a prominent young actress. Following the conclusion of “Teen Wolf,” she continued to expand her portfolio with lead roles in Syfy’s horror anthology “Channel Zero: Butcher’s Block” (2018) and Amazon Prime Video’s “Lore” (2017). Her film roles include “No Escape” (2020), “Escape Room: Tournament of Champions” (2021), “Ted Bundy: American Boogeyman” (2021), and “Teen Wolf: The Movie” (2023), further diversifying her acting experience.
