Jack Settipane is the consummate all-rounder: Producer, director, writer, actor, and all the other behind-the-scenes jobs that bring films to life. He made his first feature film when he was eleven years old and got his first real production break with Last Call, a film about the final days of Welsh poet Dylan Thomas starring John Malkovich and Rhys Ifans. The film had been in production for some time but ground to a halt in a tangle of financial issues. Settipane helped to rescue the film, ensuring its release in 2021.
Settipane began binging on films and acting them out when he was four. By the age of eleven, he’d made his first amateur feature film and proceeded to spend his teenage years making films with friends. One TikTok move he made had 11 million views. His film debut ‘proper’ came in 2015 with Remnants, a short film that he wrote, produced, directed, edited, and starred in. Dead Weight followed the same year and saw Seppitane perform many of the same tasks as well as carry out the filming.
A rising talent with many connections and irons in the fire, Settipane has recently completed an experimental film called Tick and also runs a production company, Lesnik Entertainment, which is helping to handle the release of Last Call. Amazingly for someone who has achieved so much in such a tough industry at such a young age, he regrets not having started his career sooner. However, with talent and dedication such as his, Jack Settipane will be around for a long time to come.
