Jean-Éric Vergne, commonly known as JEV, is a distinguished French racing driver currently competing in Formula E for DS Penske and in the FIA World Endurance Championship with Peugeot TotalEnergies. Vergne made history in the electric racing series by becoming the 2017–18 ABB Formula E Champion, clinching his title by finishing fifth in the New York ePrix. He further solidified his legacy by winning back-to-back championships in the 2018–19 season, making him the first driver to achieve this feat in Formula E.
Vergne’s journey in motorsport began in karting, leading him to success in various junior formulae.
