Jesper Tjäder, born in Östersund, Sweden, on May 22, 1994, began skiing at a young age, around four years old. From his early days, Tjäder demonstrated a commitment to advancing the sport’s technical aspects. His career officially started in 2011, and he quickly gained recognition for his unique approach to freeskiing, focusing on developing new tricks and executing them with precision. He specializes in Freeskiing Big Air and Freeskiing Street disciplines, areas where his creativity and skill are prominently displayed. Tjäder’s philosophy revolves around innovation, aiming to perform tricks that are either entirely new or rarely seen by others, while also integrating these advanced maneuvers into both film projects and competitive events.
Throughout his career, Tjäder has accumulated significant achievements and accolades. In 2011, he was honored with the IF3 Rookie of the Year award, followed by the 2011 Best Rail Skier of the Year and 2012 Park Shredder of the Year awards from the Transition Winter Awards. His competitive prowess extends to the Olympic stage, where he represented Sweden in Freeskiing Slopestyle at the Winter Olympics in 2014, 2018, and 2022.
