Rising star and glamourous diva Jimi The Kween is a versatile, fun and eccentric drag performer who rose to fame on The Voice Australia. A true all-rounder who has also appeared in several well-known commercials, Jimi is just as much at home presenting and hosting as she is singing, dancing and acting.
Classically trained at Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, Jimi was working as a wedding and event planner when several people encouraged her to do drag. The Australian star soon became accustomed to being the centre of attention after regularly performing at the legendary Poof Doof club in Melbourne.
With glittering makeup, fluttery eyelashes and stunning wigs, Jimi is a real head-turner and party starter, but she also possesses soulful vocals which were more than enough to impress the four judges on Season 9 of The Voice Australia in May 2020. Boy George, Kelly Rowland, Delta Goodrem and Guy Sebastian all turned their chairs following her moving and powerful rendition of Chris Isaac’s ‘Wicked Game’. After several impressive vocal performances Jimi made it to the playoffs in episode 16, and since appearing on the show has released her debut single ‘I’m Coming Out’, a live recording of her phenomenal cover on The Voice. Whether it’s belting out ballads, performing full-on extravaganzas or fun impersonations, Jimi The Kween can do it all, and this fabulous star is one to watch.
