His career began with his film debut in ‘A Nightmare on Elm Street’ (1984), quickly achieving stardom in 1987 as undercover cop Tommy Hanson in the acclaimed TV series ’21 Jump Street.’ Depp’s versatile approach led to his first collaboration with director Tim Burton in ‘Edward Scissorhands’ (1990), where he played the titular character.
