Emily Peachey is an American actress who is perhaps currently best known for playing Monica in the box-office smash hit, The Fault in Our Stars. More recently, she has appeared films such as Tar and Fishbowl and also played Lisa Sampson in the Spectrum Originals drama series Paradise Lost. Her other television credits include appearances in the likes of 13 Reasons Why, Veep, Sons of Thunder, College, Velvet Prozac, and American Rust. Her most recent projects include parts in Ulysses Coyote and Hot Girl Problems.
Peachey was born in Arlington County, Virginia, in December 1990. She got her first taste of the film business whilst still in high school when she had an uncredited part in Step Up, a dance film that took $114 million at the box office and spawned several sequels. A couple of minor roles followed before she graduated from high school and went to study Marketing Communications at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. After graduating, she returned to acting, appearing as a caterer in an episode of the hit political comedy series, Veep and, more importantly, as Monica in the film adaptation of John Green’s bestselling novel, The Fault in Our Stars. The film was a worldwide hit, grossing $307 million at the box office and giving Peachey the chance to act alongside the likes of Shailene Woodley and Willem Dafoe.
In the years since, Peachey has continued to build her acting reputation with parts in films such as American Pastoral, The Umbrella Man, Love Dot Com, and many more.
