Child crochet prodigy Jonah Larson has the world on a string. Before even entering high school, he has been the subject of feature articles in USA Today, the New York Times, Vogue, Oprah Magazine, People, The Times of London and Forbes, and has appeared on the Today Show, Good Morning America, the CBS Evening News, The Kelly Clarkson Show, Little Big Shots with Melissa McCarthy, Pickler & Ben and The Drew Barrymore Show, on which he makes regular appearances as a reviewer of children’s books, appearing onscreen with authors including Jimmy Fallon, Henry Winkler and Cat Deeley.
Larson has won hundreds of awards for his crochet work, as well as publishing two books, ‘Hello, Crochet Friends!’ and ‘Giving Back Crochet’, and starting his own business, the LLC ‘Jonah’s Hands’. He is also a proud philanthropist, funding the Jonah’s Hands Library in the rural Ethiopian village where he was born and currently raising the money to further endow it with a science lab.
Larson maintains a strong relationship with his online fans, posting croquet tutorials both on his website jonahhands.com and his Instagram account, which boasts 270,000 followers, including fellow crochet superstar and fan London Kaye. Recently, Larson has used his platform to engage with social issues, crocheting a quilt reading ‘BLM’ in support of the Black Lives Matter movement and another encouraging people to ‘Stay Home’ in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. At such a tender age, it seems that Jonah is already eager to live out his commitment that ‘crochet brings the world together, one stitch at a time.’
