Jonathon Frakes

Jonathan Frakes is a highly respected actor and director, celebrated for his enduring contributions to the Star Trek franchise and his extensive directorial work across various television series and films. After securing roles in the Broadway musical Shenandoah and the soap opera The Doctors (1977-1978) as Vietnam veteran Tom Carroll, Jonathan Frakes relocated to Los Angeles in late 1978. He swiftly garnered guest appearances on notable prime-time shows throughout the late 1970s and early 1980s, including Charlie’s Angels, Fantasy Island, Barnaby Jones, Quincy, M.E., Highway to Heaven, The Waltons, and The Dukes of Hazzard. Frakes further expanded his acting portfolio with a starring role in the prime-time soap opera Bare Essence (1983) and achieved significant recognition as Stanley Hazard in the acclaimed Civil War miniseries North & South: Book 1, North & South (1985).

Frakes remains active as a performer, lending his voice to Commander William T. Riker in Star Trek: Very Short Treks (2023) and William Thomas Riker in the video game Star Trek: Resurgence (2023). He is currently slated for upcoming directorial projects, including the feature film Deathlands (2026), the music video Denny McCormick: My Old Friends, and the television series Arthur C. Clarke’s Venus Prime.
