Jonathon Frakes

Having appeared in some of the most iconic franchises in the world, it is fair to say that Jonathan Frakes is a living legend. The American actor and director has established himself as a staple of American culture through his long-standing role as Commander William T. Riker in the Star Trek series. The Pennsylvania native first discovered his love of acting whilst working as an usher at a local theatre during a college summer break. Watching the actors perform ignited a fire in Frakes that led him to switch his degree to theater arts. Upon graduation with a masters from Harvard, Frakes moved to New York in the pursuit of success. Due to his natural ability and hard work, the actor made a name for himself on Broadway.

Deciding to branch out beyond the stage, Frakes was cast in the television series Bare Essence in the 1980s. The job would turn out to be a pivotal moment in Frakes career and personal life as the role would launch Frakes as one of the finest television actors in America whilst also being the site of his meeting his future wife, the actress Genie Francis. Alongside being one of the longest running actors of the Star Trek franchise, Frakes has narrated numerous documentaries, worked as a host for the show Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction and has directed over 70 episodes of television. After publishing a best-selling book, Frakes is currently working on passing on his knowledge and experience to a younger generation of stars through his film direction lessons.
