Jonna Sundling is a cross-country skier who is well-known for her speed; she’s often placing in sprint disciplines and currently holds silver for the sprint season standing for 2020. Currently she competes on the world stage and with her Club Piteå Elit.
Sundling’s success was imminent, even during the Junior World Championships. Hailing from Sweden, she represented her native country when she took home gold in the 2013 and 2014 4 x 3.3 km relay, as well as the 2014 individual sprint, even nabbing a silver too in the 2012 4 x 3.3 km relay.
This led her to graduate to the Under Twenty-Three (years old) World Championships in 2016, where she was decorated in gold yet again for the individual sprint, claiming that category with victory after victory.
In addition, she also holds nine individual podiums, three being bronze (for her 1.6 km sprint during the 2018/19 season World Cup in Germany, for her 1.6 km sprint during the 2018/19 season Stage World Cup in Canada, and for her 1.4 km sprint during the 2019/20 season World Cup in Sweden), the next three being silver (for her 1.4 km sprint during the 2017/18 season Stage World Cup in Sweden, for her 1.4 km sprint during the 2019/20 season Stage World Cup in Finland, and for her 1.5 km sprint during the 2019/20 season Stage World Cup in Norway), and the last three being individual wins (for her 1.3 km sprint during the 2018/19 season Stage World Cup in Norway, for her 1.2 km sprint during the 2019/20 season World Cup in Slovenia, and lastly, for her 1.2 km sprint during the 2019/20 season World Cup in Norway).
