Joseph Gatt was born in Notting Hill, London, on December 3, 1971, to Maltese immigrant parents. He began his professional training at the Sylvia Young Theatre School and later honed his craft at the Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, where he earned a degree in acting and music theater. At the age of 14, Gatt was diagnosed with alopecia universalis, a condition that resulted in complete hair loss. His early career included roles in London’s West End theater productions such as “Miss Saigon” and “Jesus Christ Superstar.” After relocating to the United States, he quickly secured a lead role in the thriller film “Pulse,” starring alongside Kristen Bell.
A significant portion of Gatt’s career involves motion capture and voice acting in the video game industry. He is recognized for performing the motion capture and lending his likeness to ‘Kratos’ in the acclaimed “God Of War” franchise. He also provided the voice for ‘Lord Scourge’ in the popular “Star Wars: The Old Republic.” His film credits include playing the Frost Giant villain ‘Grundroth’ in Marvel’s 2011 film “THOR” and portraying humanoid Starfleet ‘Science Officer 0718′ in J.J.
