Joy Marilie is a native New Yorker with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education and a Master’s Degree in Childhood Education. With nearly 20 years of experience in arts education and leadership, Marilie has developed a deep understanding of child development. For 14 years, she designed curriculum and taught in NYC early childhood programs and public elementary schools, primarily serving under-resourced communities. After her time in the classroom, she held leadership roles as the Managing Director of the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music and Arts Director for Bronx Charter School for the Arts. In these positions, she oversaw music, theater, dance, and visual arts departments. As an instructional coach and school leader, she provided direct coaching and professional development to enrichment teachers across various disciplines, focusing on instruction, curriculum development, and classroom management.
In 2019, Joy Marilie transitioned to consulting, working with schools, non-profit arts organizations, and businesses to enhance their arts and enrichment programs and support their teachers. Her expertise extends to delivering talks, trainings, and conference presentations.
