Julian Lage

Julian Lage is an American guitarist and composer who has gained worldwide recognition for his musical abilities. He was born in December 1987 in California and began playing guitar at the young age of five. He was a child prodigy and amazed everyone with his guitar skills, performing his first public concert at the age of six.

Lage’s musical abilities were recognized by several renowned musicians like Carlos Santana and Pat Metheny. He performed with Carlos Santana at the age of eight and recorded his first album, “Sounding Point,” at the age of 20. His contribution to jazz music has been immense, and he has collaborated with several big names in the music industry, including Gary Burton, Jim Hall, and Mark O’Connor.

Lage has performed at various music festivals, including Newport Jazz Festival and Montreux Jazz Festival, among others. He has won several accolades, including the DownBeat Critics Poll for Guitarist of the Year in 2018 and 2019. Lage has also been nominated for a Grammy Award in 2021 for his album “Arclight.”

Apart from being a successful musician, Lage is also an esteemed educator. He has conducted workshops and masterclasses on guitar playing, improvisation, and composition around the world. He has also served as a faculty member at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and the Stanford Jazz Workshop.
