Kacy Clemens

Kacy Austin Clemens was born on July 27, 1994, in Houston, TX. He developed an early passion for baseball, playing for Memorial High School in Houston where he excelled, earning recognition on the Louisville Slugger High School All-American Team and Rawlings All-Region First Team. In 2013, he was named District 19-5A MVP. Clemens continued his academic and athletic career at the University of Texas at Austin, where he played first base and occasionally pitched for the Longhorns. During his collegiate career, he demonstrated consistent performance, leading the team in multiple offensive categories during his senior year, including hits, home runs, and RBIs. He was also an active participant in community service initiatives such as the Roger Clemens “Make a Pitch For Kids” Foundation.

Clemens’ professional baseball journey began in 2017 when he was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 8th round, 249th overall. He spent several years in the minor league system, playing for various affiliates including the Vancouver Canadians, Lansing Lugnuts, Dunedin Blue Jays, and New Hampshire Fisher Cats. He maintained a minor league career batting average of .226 with 26 home runs and 155 RBIs over 1036 at-bats. After his time with the Blue Jays organization, Clemens continued to play independently, joining teams like the Team Texas in the Constellation Energy League in 2020, the Kane County Cougars in 2021, and the Cleburne Railroaders and Staten Island Ferry Hawks in 2022.

Throughout his career, Clemens demonstrated versatility, playing as a first baseman, leftfielder, and rightfielder. His playing career showcases a dedication to the sport at various levels.
