Rising basketball star Kai Jones is stirring up a storm on the courts. Playing for the Texas Longhorns has seen some of Jones’ most career-defining moments. Born in Nassau, Bahamas, Jones and his family moved to the US when he was 11 years old. While attending high school at the Brewster Academy, Jones discovered his passion for basketball. It was only a matter of time before Jones set his eyes on the big leagues. Taking part in a Basketball Without Borders camp held by the NBA, Jones made a decision of a lifetime and enrolled at Orlando Christian Prep high school in Florida. Now a pivotal cog in the Longhorns team, it won’t be long before Jones takes his next big leap in the NBA.
At the peak of Jones’ high school career, he captured the Florida High School Athletic Association Class 3A State Championship title. Balancing training with his academic career, Jones graduated with an incredible 4.2-grade point average as well as summa cum laude honours. From there Jones played a phenomenal postgraduate season at New Hampshire’s Brewster Academy. There he made the National Prep Invitational all-tournament team and later won the USA National Prep Championships.
Jones’ big break came in 2019 when he joined the powerhouse team, the Texas Longhorns as part of the NCAA Division 1 program. With his electrifying performance on the courts and mindblowing work ethic, Jones is shaping up to be one of the sport’s greatest players.
