Kaleigh Rafter has transitioned from a decorated Olympic softball player to a national team head coach and specialist in high-performance coaching development. After setting a single-season home run record at the University of Detroit in 2007 and earning Horizon League Player of the Year honors, Kaleigh Rafter joined Team Canada’s women’s national team the same year, marking the beginning of a prominent international career. She quickly established herself, competing in her first Olympic Games at Beijing 2008 where Team Canada placed fourth. Her early Pan American Games contributions included silver medals in 2007 and 2011.

In 2023, she was promoted to Assistant Coach at Florida State University. Rafter further solidified her expertise by completing the prestigious International Coaching Enrichment Certificate Program (ICECP) in 2025, becoming the first Canadian coach to achieve this distinction since the program’s inception in 2008. As part of her ICECP work, Rafter developed the comprehensive High-Performance Coach Development Program for Softball Canada, an initiative designed to significantly enhance coaching education and modernize athlete development strategies nationwide. She currently serves as the head coach for Team Canada, leading the next generation of Canadian softball players and applying her extensive experience from both collegiate and international competition to shape elite athletic performance.
