Katherine Lanasa

Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on December 1, 1966, Katherine LaNasa displayed an early aptitude for dance, leading her to begin ballet at age 12. Her talent earned her admission to the North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem at 14, followed by apprenticeships with the Milwaukee Ballet and dancing with Ballet West and the Karole Armitage Ballet. LaNasa transitioned into acting, making her film debut with a small role in 1990’s “Catchfire” and contributing choreography to the 1989 film “Rooftops.” Her early career in the 1990s included guest appearances on notable television series and supporting roles in films, laying the groundwork for a prolific career in the entertainment industry.

LaNasa’s career progressed with significant roles in television and film throughout the 2000s and 2010s. She secured a lead role in the NBC sitcom “Three Sisters” from 2001 to 2002 and later appeared in a range of shows including “Love Monkey” (2006), “12 Miles of Bad Road” (2006-2008), “Deception” (2013), and “Satisfaction” (2014-2015). Her film credits during this period include “Alfie” (2004), “Valentine’s Day” (2010), “Jayne Mansfield’s Car” (2012), “The Campaign” (2012), and “The Frozen Ground” (2013). These roles showcased her ability to portray diverse characters across various genres, establishing her presence in Hollywood.

More recently, Katherine LaNasa has continued to build on her extensive acting portfolio. From 2017 to 2018, she was a series regular on “Imposters” and had a recurring role as Ada Stone in “Dynasty” (2018). She also appeared in “Truth Be Told” (2019–2023) and “Katy Keene” (2020), further diversifying her television experience. A significant milestone was achieved in 2025 when she was cast as Nurse Dana Evans in the HBO Max medical drama “The Pitt.” Her performance in “The Pitt” earned her the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series, marking a career highlight and recognizing her sustained contributions to dramatic television.
