Aaron Chen

Aaron Chen, born in 1995 or 1996 in Sydney, Australia, began his comedy career at a young age, performing stand-up in pubs around Sydney after winning the Melbourne International Comedy Festival’s “Class Clowns” competition in 2012 at the age of 15. His early work showcased a unique comedic voice that quickly garnered attention within the Australian comedy scene. This early success set the foundation for a career marked by distinctive humor and a deadpan delivery.

Chen’s professional development accelerated with his debut solo show, ‘The Infinite Faces Of Chenny Baby,’ which toured nationally to sold-out crowds in 2017. This show earned him Best Newcomer awards at both the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and Sydney Comedy Festival. The same year, he gained widespread recognition for an unconventional live report at a Liverpool vs. Sydney football game, which went viral and demonstrated his ability to engage diverse audiences. His television presence grew with ‘Aaron Chen Tonight’ on ABC TV and roles in ‘Ronny Chieng: International Student’ and ‘Orange is the New Brown.’

A significant turning point in Chen’s career was his role as George, a probate clerk, in Kitty Flanagan’s ABC sitcom ‘Fisk’ starting in 2021. The series’ acquisition by Netflix in 2023 introduced him to an international audience, expanding his fan base in the United States. His continued growth is evident in his acclaimed 2021 Adult Swim special ‘A Life in Questions,’ nominated for an AACTA Award, and his 2022 stand-up special, ‘If Weren’t Filmed, Nobody Would Believe,’ which has accumulated nearly a million views on YouTube. Upcoming projects include a role in Ben Stiller’s feature film ‘The Dink’ and the British comedy series ‘Make That Movie,’ further solidifying his position in both comedy and acting.
