Kirk Ferentz is a distinguished Football coach, currently serving as the head coach for the University of Iowa Hawkeyes since 1999. His coaching journey began after a successful playing career as a linebacker at the University of Connecticut, where he was recognized as an academic all-conference player. Ferentz transitioned into coaching as a graduate assistant at Connecticut, followed by roles at Worcester Academy and the University of Pittsburgh, where he honed his skills in developing young athletes.

In 1981, Ferentz joined the Iowa coaching staff as an offensive line coach, where he played a pivotal role in shaping the team’s offensive strategies. His expertise led him to head coaching positions at the University of Maine from 1990 to 1992, and later, he returned to Iowa, where he has since become the all-time wins leader.
