Kurt Benkert is best known for being an Football quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons of the NFL, after playing throughout college for both the University of Virginia and East Carolina University. He also ranks third all-time in the UVA record book, with an astounding 5759 career passing yards, and 46 career passing touchdowns.
Beginning his career in football at university, Benkert was quickly named East Carolina’s starting quarterback in 2015, and despite suffering a torn ACL, he still transferred to University of Virginia the following year and again, was named starting quarterback in his first year there. While studying there, he even broke the school record for passing yards in a game with an incredible 455.
As his time at university drew to a close, Benkert signed with the Atlanta Falcons as an undrafted free agent in 2018, and signed his first reserve/future contact with the team on the last day of the same year. Most recently, at the very beginning of 2021, Benkert signed a second reserve/future contract with the Atlanta Falcons.
