Duce Staley

Duce Staley has transitioned from a Super Bowl champion NFL running back to an esteemed coach, now sharing his expertise in player development as a running backs coach. After distinguishing himself as a collegiate running back, ranking 13th nationally with 1,116 rushing yards in 1996, Duce Staley was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the third round of the 1997 NFL Draft. Staley quickly became a key offensive player for the Eagles, taking on the primary running back role after his rookie season, which he held until 2003. During his tenure, he was a vital part of the ‘Three-Headed Monster’ backfield in 2003.

As a coach, Staley earned his second Super Bowl ring when the Eagles secured the Super Bowl LII title in 2018. His innovative approach to player development was recognized industry-wide when a footwork drill he created, known as the ‘Duce Staley drill,’ was adopted into the NFL Scouting Combine in 2020. From 2021 to 2022, Staley further expanded his coaching influence as Assistant Head Coach and Running Backs Coach for the Detroit Lions, playing a crucial role in enhancing the team’s rushing offense. He then brought his proven leadership and player development skills to the Carolina Panthers in 2023, serving in similar capacities.

Throughout his coaching journey, Staley has consistently demonstrated a proven ability to elevate team performance and mentor athletes to achieve peak potential. In 2024, Staley joined the Cleveland Browns as their Running Backs Coach, continuing his mission to cultivate elite talent. Beyond the professional coaching field, he is actively involved in philanthropic endeavors, notably through The Duce Staley Football Camp and the Catch 22 Foundation, which supports single mothers and early childhood education. These initiatives underscore his commitment to community engagement and developing future generations.
