Liza Fromer was born on March 18, 1970, in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. She completed her education at Ryerson Polytechnical Institute in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Radio and Television Arts. Her early career began in broadcasting, driving the Q107 Community Cruiser before transitioning into television. Fromer launched her television career at YTV, where she co-hosted “Video & Arcade Top 10” and “Clips.” In 1995, she moved to The Weather Network, hosting “Good Morning Toronto” until 1997. She then became a news anchor and reporter at A-Channel in Calgary, anchoring the station’s inaugural newscast.

From 2002, Liza Fromer became a prominent figure in Canadian morning television, notably as the co-host of Citytv’s “Breakfast Television.” During her five-year tenure, she covered a variety of topics, establishing herself as a respected broadcast journalist. Following her departure from “Breakfast Television” in 2006, Fromer hosted her own series, “The List,” on the Slice network, which premiered in 2007. Her career progressed to include roles with other major networks, such as The Discovery Channel and CBS’s Newspath, showcasing her versatility in reporting and presenting across different platforms.

In 2009, Fromer joined Newstalk 1010 in Toronto as part of John Moore’s morning show. In 2011, she became the co-host of “The Morning Show” on the Global Television Network, a position she held until 2016. Beyond her on-air roles, she has also acted in productions such as “Sanctuary” (1998) and “Magnus Opus” (2003).
