Luis Boa Morte is a former professional footballer, recognized for his impactful career as an attacking winger, forward, and central midfielder across top European leagues, and has since transitioned into a respected football coach. After securing a significant move to English football in 1997, Luis Boa Morte joined Arsenal for a fee of £1.75 million, immediately contributing to the club’s double-winning season in 1997-98 and making 15 league appearances. He also played a key role in Arsenals FA Charity Shield victories in 1998 and 1999. Following his tenure with Arsenal, Boa Morte transferred to Southampton in August 1999 for £500,000 before making a pivotal move to Fulham in July 2000.
Transitioning into coaching, Boa Morte began his new career assisting at the Fulham academy. He then took on the role of Assistant Manager for Sporting CP B in 2014, progressing to Manager for Sporting CP U19s from 2014 to 2015. His expertise was further recognized when he served as a scout for Arsenal between 2015 and 2017. Continuing to build his coaching credentials, Boa Morte managed Sintrense from 2017 to 2018, and subsequently led Portimonense U23 in 2018.

Most recently, Boa Morte served as a first-team coach for Fulham FC from 2021 to 2024, demonstrating his continued commitment to top-tier club football. In 2024, Luis Boa Morte achieved a career milestone by being appointed as the head coach for the Guinea-Bissau national football team, marking a pivotal step in his international coaching career.
