Drag queen and star of season 4 of Ru Paul’s Drag Race, Madame LaQueer is a gay icon and popular performer originally from Puerto Rico.
Carlos Melendez, better known by her stage name Madame LaQueer, was a competitor on the biggest drag show in the world, Ru Paul’s Drag Race. On the reality TV talent competition, drag queens from across America compete to be crowned the next drag superstar, with international performer and media star Ru Paul judging the competitors’ efforts each week. Madame LaQueer was a contestant on season 4 of the hugely popular show, and shot to fame thanks to her larger than life personality and fiery Puerto Rican personality. She was eliminated after just four episodes of the show, but made a big impact on viewers at home who have continued to be her fans and come to her shows and events. Madame LaQueer has been performing as a drag queen for more than 20 years, and is a drag mother to at least 15 other performers, known as her drag daughters. She now has more than 24k followers on her Instagram page, where she posts updates from her shows, behind the scenes pictures, brand collaborations and promotes her upcoming performances.
