Alex Newell is a versatile actor and singer, known for their powerful performances on screen and stage, and their groundbreaking achievements as an openly non-binary artist. After being offered a two-episode guest role on Oxygen’s ‘The Glee Project’ in 2011, Alex Newell went on to make an impactful debut as Wade ‘Unique’ Adams on the hit series ‘Glee’ in 2012. Their compelling portrayal of the transgender teenager quickly led to their promotion to a main cast member from the fourth season onward, ultimately appearing in a total of 43 episodes between 2012 and 2015. During this period, Newell’s powerful vocals and performance contributed to the show’s widespread success, earning them a nomination for a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series in 2012.
