Mark Allen

Securing the European Championship and IBSF World Championship in 2004 as an amateur, Mark Allen quickly established himself as a formidable talent in professional snooker. Prior to turning professional in 2005, Allen swept the Northern Ireland U14, U16, U18, and U19 titles in consecutive years. His professional debut saw an immediate impact, notably defeating seasoned players Steve Davis and John Higgins in his first two matches at the invitational Northern Ireland Trophy. He continued his ascent, reaching the semi-finals of the prestigious World Championship at the Crucible in 2009.

Notably, he is the only player to achieve maximum breaks in all three Triple Crown events. In 2024, Allen reached a significant milestone by briefly holding the world number one position from May to August, becoming the 12th player in snooker history to achieve this esteemed status. His accomplishments that year included making a 147 break at the Masters, winning the Players Championship, and finishing the 2023/24 season as world number one. He also secured victory at the Riyadh Season Snooker Championship in 2024 and further demonstrated his prowess by making a 147 at the World Championship and winning his 12th ranking title at the English Open in 2025.

Beyond the table, Allen demonstrated community commitment during the COVID-19 pandemic by delivering groceries and medications to vulnerable individuals and founded the Mark Allen Foundation in 2024 to support local people in need.
