Mark Blum

Mark Blum was an accomplished actor known for his roles across film, television, and Broadway, offering a versatile and experienced presence to various productions. After gaining significant attention for his role as Gary Glass in the independent film Desperately Seeking Susan (1985), Mark Blum established a versatile career across film, television, and Broadway. His early professional training included a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Minnesota, incorporating studies at the esteemed Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis. Blum commenced his stage career in the 1970s, featuring in productions such as The Cherry Orchard (1976) and The Merchant (1977).

Blum remained professionally active in 2020, with roles in films Sister of the Groom and Human Capital, and appearances in series Tommy, Almost Family, and Billions as Dr. Mark Rutenberg. Beyond his prolific acting career, Blum was a dedicated faculty member at HB Studio in New York City and served on the New York and national boards of the Screen Actors Guild.
