Ivy Chen

Ivy Chen Yi-han was born on November 12, 1982, in Taipei, Taiwan. Her entry into the entertainment industry began in 2002 after appearing on the Taiwanese variety show ‘Guess.’ This provided an initial platform, leading to her being signed by a talent agent from Prajna Works. Early in her career, she appeared in commercials and music videos, laying the groundwork for her acting pursuits. Chen pursued higher education, earning an information management degree from Jinwen University of Science and Technology, before fully committing to her acting career.

Chen’s acting career gained traction with significant roles in both film and television. In 2006, she appeared in the film ‘The Road in the Air’ and the television series ‘Smiling Pasta.’ A breakthrough came with her performance in the 2009 film ‘Hear Me,’ where she received the Best Actress Award at the Taipei Film Festival and the Global Chinese Awards for Best Actress in Film (Taiwan). This was followed by her role in the critically acclaimed television series ‘Black & White’ in the same year, for which she also earned recognition, including the Global Chinese Awards for Best Actress in Television (Taiwan).

Over the years, Chen has accumulated a diverse filmography, starring in notable productions such as ‘Love’ (2012), ‘Paradise in Service’ (2014), and ‘More Than Blue’ (2018). She also directed the television series ‘Love Is in the Air’ in 2018. Her work has continued into more recent years with projects like ‘Trouble Girl’ (2023) and upcoming television series. She has been recognized with multiple awards and nominations throughout her career, including further nominations at the Golden Horse Awards, signifying her sustained presence and impact in the industry.
