Matt Frewer is an American actor with 40 years of professional success to his name. He first found fame as the iconic proto-AI character Max Headroom in the mid-1980s but has long since established himself as an award-winning actor and voice actor whose many, many roles have encompassed everything from popular children’s series to adult horror. His credits are too numerous to list, but he has appeared in the likes of Orphan Black, Falling Skies, A Town Called Eureka, and more recently, Fear the Walking Dead and Perry Mason. His film credits include Watchmen, Pixels,and Honey, I Shrunk the Kids. Particularly during the 1990s, he voiced characters in popular children’s shows such as The Incredible Hulk and The Pink Panther.
Frewer made his professional acting debut in 1983. He first played Max Headroom in 1985, and the character remains a key image of the decade both in the United States and United Kingdom. He reprised the role 30 years later for the movie Pixels. Throughout the early 1990s, Frewer continued to play comedy, starring in sitcoms such as Doctor, Doctor and Shaky Ground and plenty of popular children’s content, from animated shows to films to video games.
In recent years, Frewer has appeared in many diverse series, with his recurring roles including parts in the likes of The Magicians, The Order, and The Truth About the Harry Quebert Affair. He remains as popular and in-demand as ever, particularly on television.
