Canadian actor Nathan Dales is best known for his portrayal of the character of Daryl on Letterkenny, a Canadian television sitcom created and developed by Jared Keeso. Beginning life as a YouTube web series entitled Letterkenny Problems, the show features the residents of Letterkenny, a rural community in Ontario that’s based on the creator’s hometown. Dales appeared in the original web series before being cast as Daryl after the show was commissioned by Crave in early 2015. It has since won the award for Best Comedy Series at the 5th Canadian Screen Awards and has been running for nine consecutive seasons.
Born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, Dales moved to Los Angeles in order to attend the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. After graduating in 2007, he found his first stage role in a production of Kenneth H. Brown’s The Brig, a story about American soldiers held in military prison. Aside from his work in Letterkenny, Dales has also appeared in the 2017 CTV mini-series The Indian Detective as Agent Shamansky, and portrayed the character of Seth/Oskar in CW’s 2015 series Supernatural. He’s also played the role of Petr in the 2017 motion picture Goon: The Last of the Enforcers, which was written by Jay Baruchel.
