About

New Hope Club, comprised of Reece Bibby, Blake Richardson, and George Smith, formed in October 2015. George Smith and Blake Richardson initially connected with the intention of forming a group. Reece Bibby, who had previously been a member of the boy band Stereo Kicks and appeared on ‘The X Factor’ in 2014, joined the duo in November 2015 following Stereo Kicks’ disbandment. All three members originate from Northern England. The band’s initial recording was a cover of “Wake Up” by The Vamps in October 2015, which garnered attention and led to their signing with The Vamps’ label, Steady Records, a subsidiary of Virgin EMI Records, in December 2015.

The band released their debut 4-song EP, ‘Welcome to the Club,’ through Hollywood Records via Steady Records on May 5, 2017. This EP featured tracks such as “Perfume” and “Fixed,” with accompanying music videos. New Hope Club spent ten weeks on the Billboard Next Big Sound chart, peaking at number 5 on September 16, 2017. Their growing visibility led to a nomination for Choice Next Big Thing at the 2017 Teen Choice Awards. They followed this with a Christmas song, “Whoever He Is,” released on December 1, 2017, and their second EP, ‘Welcome to the Club Pt. 2,’ in October 2018.

Throughout their career, New Hope Club supported The Vamps on three UK/Europe tours (2017, 2018, 2019) and performed a song nightly on The Vamps’ 2016 Wake Up Tour. They also toured the USA with The Vamps in 2018. Their first headlining shows were held at the O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London in June 2018, both of which sold out. Their self-titled debut album, released in February 2020, reached number five on the UK Album Charts. In June 2022, they released the multi-track single “Getting Better” and “Girl Who Does Both” and embarked on their ‘Getting Better Tour’ with dates across the UK, US, Europe, Southeast Asia, and Latin America. On February 4, 2025, the band announced an indefinite hiatus.
