Russian-American actress, Olesya Rulin is best known for having co-starred in all three films of High School Musical as Kelsi Nielsen. Rulin was born in Moscow, Russia in 1986. She moved to the United States when she was eight years old. Rulin graduated from West Jordan High School. Aside from school, she was also training for ballet dancing. At the age of 12, Rulin entered a model search contest, and won representation by four different agencies. In the beginning, Rulin began working as a certified nursing assistant, and at stores like Victoria’s Secret and Nordstrom. However, not long after that, Rulin appeared in High School Musical 2 and High School Musical 3: Senior Year. Rulin also holds credits for appearing in other Disney Channel Original Movies such as Halloweentown High, The Poof Point, and Hounded. She also appeared in the television series Everwood, and feature films Forever Strong, Mobsters and Mormons and The Dance. Still, her role in High School Musical was her biggest success in her acting career. She also appeared in the film Major Movie Star, alongside Jessica Simpson, and in Flying By alongside Billy Ray Cyrus. Rulin can also be seen in Expecting Mary, Family Weekend, and the series Powers. During her free time, Rulin likes to help charities by donating clothes and spending time with unsheltered dogs.
