Patrick Wilson

Patrick Joseph Wilson was born on July 3, 1973, in Norfolk, Virginia, and grew up in St. Petersburg, Florida. He graduated with a B.F.A. in Drama from Carnegie Mellon University in 1995. Wilson embarked on his career in 1995, starting with Broadway musicals. He gained early recognition and nominations for two Tony Awards for his roles in “The Full Monty” (2000–2001) and “Oklahoma!” (2002). His stage work also earned him Drama League and Drama Desk Award nominations, establishing him as a prominent figure in musical theater early in his career.

Wilson transitioned into film, making his debut in “The Alamo” (2004) and gaining wider attention for roles in “The Phantom of the Opera” (2004) and the psychological thriller “Hard Candy” (2005). His career diversified with roles in acclaimed films like “Little Children” (2006) and “Watchmen” (2009). A significant turning point was his recurring role as paranormal investigator Ed Warren in “The Conjuring” universe (starting in 2013) and as Josh Lambert in the “Insidious” film series (starting in 2010), earning him a “scream king” reputation. On television, he starred in the CBS drama series “A Gifted Man” (2011–2012) and received a Golden Globe nomination for his performance as Lou Solverson in the second season of FX’s “Fargo” (2015).

Wilson has also taken on prominent roles in the DC Extended Universe, portraying Orm Marius/Ocean Master in “Aquaman” (2018) and “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” (2023).
