Regina Hall

Regina Hall earned widespread critical acclaim for her lead role in the 2018 film ‘Support the Girls’, becoming the first African American to win the New York Film Critics Circle Award for Best Actress. This significant achievement led to her invitation to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences the same year. Hall began her acting career appearing in commercials in 1997, leading to her cinematic debut in the 1999 film ‘The Best Man’ as Candace ‘Candy’ Sparks. The following year, she gained significant recognition portraying Brenda Meeks in the hit comedy-horror spoof ‘Scary Movie’, a character she reprised in its successful sequels ‘Scary Movie 2’, ‘Scary Movie 3’, and ‘Scary Movie 4’.

Save Your Soul.’ (released 2022). A significant development in her producing career includes striking an exclusive first-look deal with Showtime in October 2020 for television projects, followed by a six-film deal with ViacomCBS just a few months later that same year. In October 2024, Hall solidified her presence in the unscripted content space by signing a first-look deal with MGM Alternative, a division of Amazon MGM Studios, to develop and produce true crime, ensemble docuseries, and game genres. She also notably co-hosted the 94th Academy Awards in 2022 and has received honorary doctorate degrees from Dillard University (2019) and her alma mater, Fordham University (2025).

Her upcoming projects include a feature in Paul Thomas Anderson’s ‘One Battle After Another’, slated for 2025.
