Rinky Hijikata

Rinky Hijikata made a significant impact in January 2023, winning the men’s doubles title at the Australian Open with partner Jason Kubler. En route to the championship, the pair defeated three seeded teams, including the world No. 1 duo. Prior to this Grand Slam victory, Hijikata began establishing his professional career, earning a silver medal in doubles at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics.

Building on his Grand Slam success, Hijikata continued his upward trajectory in 2023. He reached his first ATP tour-level singles semifinal at the Rosmalen Grass Court Championships and made a notable run to the fourth round of the US Open in singles. His consistent performance led to his top 100 debut at world No. 82 in September 2023.

Expanding his doubles accolades, he secured his second doubles title in October 2023 at the Japan Open Tennis Championships, partnering with Max Purcell, which saw him reach the top 25 in the doubles rankings. The momentum carried into 2024, where Hijikata achieved a career-high singles ranking of world No. 62. Demonstrating versatility on different surfaces, he recorded his first win on clay courts at the U.S.

Men’s Clay Court Championships. He subsequently made his ATP 500 main draw debut and reached the quarterfinals at the prestigious Queen’s Club Championships, further cementing his presence on the international stage. Looking ahead to 2025, Hijikata is set to continue his strong doubles performance, reaching the Wimbledon Men’s Doubles Final with partner David Pel. His professional career is marked by consistent progression across both singles and doubles, establishing him as a prominent and competitive figure on the ATP Tour.
