Rob Wiethoff

Rob Wiethoff is an American actor and voice actor recognized for his portrayal of iconic characters in major video game titles and film productions. After being cast by Rockstar Games in December 2008, Rob Wiethoff dedicated almost two years to his career-defining role as John Marston, the iconic protagonist in the critically acclaimed video game Red Dead Redemption. His extensive performance capture work culminated in the game’s release in 2010, earning him the Outstanding Character Performance award at the 14th Annual Interactive Achievement Awards in 2011 and a nomination for Best Performance by a Human Male at the 2010 Spike Video Game Awards. Prior to this landmark role, Wiethoff had secured roles in independent films, including portraying a Court Officer in 16 Blocks (2006), and showcased his producing capabilities on The Outside (2009).

His deep involvement in this project led him to fully commit to acting, leaving other professional pursuits. Beyond his celebrated contributions to the Red Dead Redemption universe, Wiethoff has built a diverse resume across film and interactive media. He appeared in the film Double Tap (2011) and lent his voice to Lazarus in the interactive radio drama Codename Cygnus (2013).
