Asli Enver

Ayten Asli Enver was born on May 10, 1984, in London, England, where she resided until the age of 12. Her father is a Turkish Cypriot, raised in London, who met and married Enver’s mother there. Enver’s upbringing involved both English as her native language and later Turkish when she moved to Istanbul. Her early artistic endeavors included winning a song contest in London. She subsequently began her theater studies at the Mujdat Gezen Art Centre in Istanbul, followed by education at Pera Fine Arts High School and a theater degree from Haliç University.

Enver’s acting career began with a minor guest role in “Uzay Sitcomu.” She gained further recognition in the TV series “Hayat Bilgisi” (2003) and starred as the main character, Mine Ergun, in the popular youth series “Daydreaming” (Kavak Yelleri), a remake of “Dawson’s Creek,” for five seasons (2007–2011). A significant milestone in her career was her portrayal of Ahu Kumral in “Suskunlar” (2012), which was the first Turkish drama to be adapted for the USA market. She continued to act in various television series, including “Kayip” (2013-2014), “Bana Artik Hicran De” (2014), “Mutlu Ol Yeter” (2015), and “Kis Günesi” (2016). Her film credits include “Are We OK?” (Tamam mıyız?) in 2013 and “My Brother” (Kardeşim Benim) in 2016.

Her career further progressed with lead roles in “Bride of Istanbul” (İstanbullu Gelin) from 2017 to 2019, where she played Süreyya Boran for 87 episodes, and “The Choice” (Babil) in 2020 as Ayse for 20 episodes. In 2022, she starred as Melisa in “In Good Hands” (Sen Yaşamaya Bak). She has also engaged in theater, appearing in “Contractions” (2015) and “The Glass Menagerie” (2022). Enver received the Best Actress Award at the Pantene Golden Butterfly Awards in 2017 for her role in “İstanbullu Gelin.” She has also been involved in soundtrack performances for her projects. In her personal life, she married businessman Berkin Gökbudak in November 2022, and they welcomed their daughter, Elay, in July 2023.
