Sam Huntington

Sam Huntington was born on April 1, 1982, in Peterborough, New Hampshire. He began his acting career at age nine, performing in his mother’s children’s theater, The Black Box, and later at Andy’s Summer Playhouse and Franklin Pierce College. His professional stage debut occurred at the Peterborough Players from 1991 to 1994, where he played roles including Jem in “To Kill A Mockingbird.” In 1995, Huntington signed with the JM Bloom Agency and moved to New York City. During this period, he appeared in television commercials, a voice-over for “The Magic School Bus,” an instructional video for Windows 95, and the Hallmark Hall of Fame presentation “Harvest of Fire” (1996).

Huntington’s film career began with a three-movie contract with Walt Disney Company. This led to his breakout role as Mimi-Siku in the 1997 comedy “Jungle 2 Jungle,” starring alongside Tim Allen and Martin Short. He later gained recognition for his portrayal of ‘Ox’ in the 2001 ensemble comedy “Not Another Teen Movie.” A significant milestone in his career was being cast as Jimmy Olsen in Bryan Singer’s 2006 film “Superman Returns.” His television work includes a starring role as Josh Levison, a werewolf, in the Syfy series “Being Human” (2011–2014), and a recurring role as Mitchie Mendelson on the Fox series “Rosewood” (2015–2017). His filmography also includes “Detroit Rock City” (1999), “Fanboys” (2009), “Dylan Dog: Dead of Night” (2011), “Veronica Mars” (2014), “Sully” (2016), and “The Last Stop in Yuma County” (2023).

Throughout his career, Huntington has demonstrated versatility across various genres in both film and television. He has also made guest appearances in popular shows like “Law & Order,” “CSI: Miami,” “CSI: NY,” “Veronica Mars,” “The Resident,” and “Good Girls.” Beyond acting, Huntington has also contributed as a producer, notably for the 2016 film “Finding Sofia.” He has been recognized for his performances, receiving a nomination for the Saturn Award for Best Performance by a Younger Actor for “Jungle 2 Jungle.”
