Rose McIver has been in the spotlight from a very young age. At the tender age of just 3 years old, she landed a role playing an angel in the Jane Campion movie, The Piano. Throughout her acting career, Rose has predominantly worked in New Zealand TV, whether it be fantasy flicks like Maddigan’s Quest, or straight-up dramas like Rude Awakenings. There has also been many appearances in TV films. Some of these include Hercules and Maiden Voyage, as well as a couple of Disney movies such as Johnny Kapahala: Back on Board and Eddie’s Million Dollar Cook-Off. Amongst Rose’s younger audience, she might also be recognised as Ranger Yellow Summer Landsdown, in Power Rangers: RPM. McIver got her first big break when she starred in the one and only Peter Jackson’s 2009 movie, The Lovely Bones. In the film, Rose played Lindsey Salmon.
Since then, McIver has gone on to star in countless films – from blockbusters to smaller, yet successful indie cult films. Some of these include, Predicament, Tangiwai, Light Years, Blinder, Petals on the Wind and A Christmas Prince – a 2017 Netflix original filmed in Romania.
Other television appearances worth mentioning include the comedy series Super City, Cassandra French’s Finishing School for Boys, Showtime’s Masters of Sex, Once Upon a Time and CW’s new series, iZombie where she stars and Olivia ‘Liv’ Moore. Most recently, Rose McIver has been busy filming a music musical feature film, called Daffodils. Shooting commenced in February 2018 an is set to be unleashed onto our screens in 2019.
