Sasheer Zamata

Sasheer Zamata seamlessly blends her comedy, acting, and writing talents to deliver engaging performances across various media, making her a versatile choice for brands seeking authentic and widely recognized talent. After establishing herself as a prolific performer at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre starting in 2009, Sasheer Zamata’s career breakthrough came in 2014 when she joined the cast of NBC’s Saturday Night Live (SNL) during its 39th season. This was a significant milestone, making her the first black female cast member since Maya Rudolph’s departure in 2007. Prior to SNL, Zamata garnered extensive television and web experience, co-starring in ABC News’ hidden camera series Would You Fall for That?

Zamata was promoted to a repertory player on SNL in 2015 and remained with the show until the Season 42 Finale in 2017, developing memorable recurring characters such as Janelle from ‘How 2 Dance with Janelle’ and Keeley on ‘Black Jeopardy!’. Following her impactful tenure on Saturday Night Live, Zamata further expanded her acting career across film and television. Her film credits include notable roles in I Feel Pretty (2018) and Spree (2020), alongside voice work in the animated features The Mitchells vs. the Machines (2021) and Muppets Haunted Mansion (2021).

Since 2015, Sasheer Zamata has served as a celebrity ambassador for the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), actively working with the Women’s Rights Project to address gender discrimination and advocate for women of color.
