Scout Taylor-Compton

Scout Taylor-Compton, born Desariee Starr Compton on February 21, 1989, in Long Beach, California, commenced her acting career in 1998 with a role in the AFI film ‘A.W.O.L’. Early in her career, she appeared in over fifteen student films, several music videos, and numerous commercials for brands like Fuji Film and Disney Cruise Line. Her theatrical background includes stage roles in ‘Annie Warbucks’ and ‘Footloose’. She also contributed voice-over work to notable films such as ‘I Am Sam’ (2001), ‘The Core’ (2003), and ‘The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement’ (2004).

Her film debut in a major Hollywood production was in ’13 Going on 30′ (2004), followed by a leading role in MGM’s ‘Sleepover’ (2004). On television, she held recurring roles on ‘Gilmore Girls’ (2001–2004) as Clara Forrester, for which she received a Young Artist Award nomination, and on ‘Charmed’ (2000–2006). A significant turning point in her career occurred in 2007 when she was cast as Laurie Strode in Rob Zombie’s ‘Halloween’ remake, a role she reprised in ‘Halloween II’ (2009). These roles brought her mainstream recognition in the horror genre.

Beyond horror, Taylor-Compton played musician Lita Ford in the biographical film ‘The Runaways’ (2010) and had supporting roles in ‘Obsessed’ (2009) and ‘Love Ranch’ (2010). Her television work continued with a recurring role as Erin on ABC’s ‘Nashville’ (2015–2016). More recently, she has expanded into directing and producing, with her directorial debut ‘Bring the Law’ wrapping production in 2024. She also voices Julie Crawford in ‘The Texas Chain Saw Massacre’ video game (2023) and co-hosts the podcast ‘Talk Scary to Me’ with Danielle Harris.
