Soraya Azzabi is a Moroccan-Canadian actress, model, fashion entrepreneur, and on-air personality. Born in Casablanca, Morocco, she experienced a significant life change when her family moved to Montreal, her adopted hometown. This transition led her to pursue modeling after being approached by talent scouts. Her modeling career took her to international fashion centers like Barcelona and Milan before she returned to Canada. In 2010, Azzabi co-represented the eastern realm at the Elite Model Look World competition, a significant milestone in her early career.
Her career expanded beyond modeling into media and production. In 2013, she worked as a reporter for District Montreal during Montreal Fashion Week and also hosted projects for The Scope magazine in Quebec. This experience led to her being approached by a production company in 2014 to work as a producer and supervisor in various productions. Leveraging her extensive experience in the entertainment industry, Azzabi established Samo’ Films in 2016. Through her production company, she directed and produced the documentary series “Making It Against All Odds” and other projects.
Azzabi made her voice-acting debut in 2019 in the animated family film “Arctic Dogs,” portraying the character Alma. She has since taken on roles in feature films like “The Moderator” (2022), where she played Selma Battal, and a role as Sophia in “The Wound 2024” (2024). She is also set to appear as Princess Nour in “The Lost Princess” (2025). Her work demonstrates a consistent progression from modeling to acting, directing, and producing within the film and television sectors.
