Stefania Constantini

Stefania Constantini was born on April 15, 1999, in Cortina D’Ampezzo, Italy. Her journey into curling began at the age of eight after being introduced to the sport by a friend. She quickly developed a passion for curling, eventually prioritizing it over other sports such as tennis and swimming to focus entirely on her budding career. Constantini’s early career saw her rise through the Italian curling ranks, making her international debut at the Winter Youth Olympic Games in Lillehammer in 2016 as the third on Italy’s national team. By 2017, she had earned a spot on the women’s senior team as a second, achieving a bronze medal at the European Championships that year. Despite this success, her team narrowly missed qualification for the PyeongChang 2018 Olympics. This pattern of falling short of Olympic qualification continued when, as skip, her rink also failed to secure a spot for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics in the women’s event.

Undeterred by these setbacks, Constantini pivoted to mixed doubles. In May 2021, she teamed up with Amos Mosaner. Their partnership proved successful, as they finished fifth at the 2021 World Mixed Doubles Championship. This achievement secured a historic berth for Italy in the mixed doubles event at the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, marking the first time the country would be represented in this specific Olympic curling discipline. At the Beijing Games, Constantini and Mosaner delivered a remarkable performance, going undefeated with a 9-0 record in the round-robin stage. They continued their dominant run through the playoffs, defeating Sweden 8-1 in the semi-final. In the gold medal match against Norway, they secured Italy’s first-ever Olympic curling medal, winning 8-5. This historic win etched Stefania Constantini’s name into Italian Olympic history.

In the following seasons, Constantini continued to achieve significant milestones. In the 2022-23 season, her women’s team won their first tour event at the S3 Group Curling Stadium Series and later qualified for their first Grand Slam of Curling event, the 2023 Canadian Open. At the 2023 World Women’s Curling Championship, her team made the playoffs for the first time in Italian history. The 2023-24 season saw her team achieve further distinction, becoming the first Italian women’s team to rank within the top ten globally. They secured a silver medal at the 2023 European Curling Championships and placed fourth at the 2024 World Women’s Curling Championship. In 2025, she is projected to compete at the World Mixed Doubles Championship once again with Amos Mosaner. Constantini is also an employee of the Gruppo Sportivo Fiamme Oro, the sports team of the Italian national police force, a role she took on in 2022.
